Haru Sushi in Fairview

This place is my favourite place near North Bergen. It´s in Fairview and the food is incredible. It might not look too reliable from the outside but once inside you fill like you’re not in Jersey anymore. It makes me feel I’m at a Japanese place in Hawaii for some reason, it really relaxes me. For  a quick lunch I recomend the eel and spicy crab roll lunch with a great miso soup. The eel (I know it sounds disgusting for those who dont each much sushi although it tastes similar to teriyaki chicken) is actualy amazing.
If you want to just die in heaven, try Yun’s special, a roll designed (and I mean design because it is designed to make your mouth have one of the greatest food orgasms imaginable) by one of the waitresses.
Good prices, japanese food that is not hispanished or americanized and you see how they do it while you relax.

Open Monday to Sarurday
11am to 10pm

Fairview, NJ

TELL THEM JULIANA NO REFERRED YOU!!! I don´t win anything but I would like to see if any of my readers get to go :)

Steve Jobs died…Even Gods die

Steve Jobs

Some of his miracles: Macintosh, iPod, iPhone, iPad and Pixar.

They say that genius people don´t live long, that they have a very intense but short life. A big but short flame that changes the world’s future.  We´ve had some like Alejandro Magno,Napoleon or even Christ. And now Steve Jobs at the age of 56 adds to that list.

He left the company in august because of the cancer he was suffering and now, 2 months later he left us. But like the big ones, his legacy will stay.

This is what Apple said:
“We are deeply saddened to announce that Steve Jobs passed away today,” Apple said. “Steve’s brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve.”

A few flashbacks to his life thanks to latimes.com :

Apple founder Steve Jobs introduces the Apple II in 1977, the first computer with a keyboard and color screen.

Steve Jobs in 1977

Jobs was born in San Francisco on Feb. 24, 1955, to Joanne Carole Schieble and Syrian immigrant Abdulfattah Jandali, unmarried University of Wisconsin graduate students who put him up for adoption. He was adopted by Paul Jobs, a high school dropout who sold used cars and worked as a machinist, and his wife, Clara.

Jobs, left, unveils the Apple IIc computer with Apple Chief Executive John Sculley and co-founder Steve Wozniak. Jobs and Wozniak met when Jobs was in high school in Cupertino, Calif., and Wozniak was intermittently attending college. The two partnered up to make and sell machines that let users make free international phone calls. In 1976, they founded Apple in a Los Altos, Calif., garage.

Steve Jobs 1984

Jobs’ willfulness and chutzpah were evident early on. At 11, he decided he didn’t like his rowdy and chaotic middle school in Mountain View, Calif., and refused to go back. His family moved to a nearby town so he could attend another school.

Jobs shows off his NeXTstation color computer at his company's Redwood City, Calif., facility in 1991. The same year, he and his wife, Laurene Powell, were married at Yosemite National Park by a Buddhist monk.

Steve Jobs 1991

When he was 12 or 13, Jobs would recall, he called the home of William Hewlett, one of the founders of Hewlett-Packard Co., to ask about parts he needed for a device he was building. For Jobs, it led to a humble summer job on a Hewlett-Packard assembly line, which he compared to being “in heaven.”

The industry was shocked when Jobs announced that the struggling Apple had forged an alliance with its sworn enemy, Microsoft. At the 1997 Macworld Expo trade show, Microsoft Chief Executive Bill Gates chimes in via satellite.

Steve Jobs 1997

While attending Homestead High School in Cupertino, Calif., Jobs met Steve Wozniak, who was nearly five years older. A technical wizard who was in and out of college, Wozniak liked to make machines to show off to other tinkerers.

Jobs stands by the new iMac computer as he addresses the Apple Expo in Paris.

Steve Jobs 1998

The two collaborated on a series of pranks and built and sold “blue boxes” — devices that enabled users to hijack phone lines and make free — and illegal — calls.

Apple Computer Inc. chief executive Steve Jobs holds the new IBM processor used by the new Apple G5 computer at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco, Monday, June 23, 2003. Jobs gave the keynote speech that introduced OS X operating system, code-name Panther.

Steve Jobs 2003

In 1972, Jobs dropped out of Reed College in Oregon after six months but lingered on campus, sleeping on friends’ dorm-room floors. He sat in on classes that interested him, such as calligraphy, which later inspired him to offer Macintosh users multiple fonts, a feature that would become a fixture of personal computing.

Jobs introduces the iPod Photo, which has a color screen to display photos and slide shows accompanied by music. The 60-gigabyte model could hold 25,000 photos and sold for $599; a 40-gigabyte model sold for $499.

Steve Jobs 2004

He worked sporadically as an electronics technician at video game maker Atari Inc., traveled to India on a quest for enlightenment and found guidance from a Zen Buddhist master.

Meanwhile, Wozniak had created a computer circuit board he was showing off to a group of Silicon Valley computer hobbyists. Jobs saw the device’s potential for broad appeal and persuaded Wozniak to leave his engineering job so they could design computers themselves.

Jobs shows off the new Macbook Air, a small, light laptop, during his keynote speech at the 2008 MacWorld conference in San Francisco. Almost exactly one year later, Jobs announced that he would take a medical leave of absence from Apple through June, saying his health issues were "more complex than I originally thought."

Steve Jobs 2008

In April 1976, the two launched Apple Computer out of Jobs’ parents’ garage, reproducing Wozniak’s circuit board as their first product.

Re-reading…

I wrote this in this exact blog 2 years ago… It seems so far and yet, the feelings are still there… I remember that night, the smell at the Newark airport…my heart ounding in my chest, me fighting against myself… I´m here now, in one way or another I made it, and I learned a lot about the journey…

When you grow the first years of your childhood going from one city to another, changing school once and again and being constantly forced to make new friends, you never get to know what having roots in a place feels like. You learn that no matter where you move you’ll always find best friends and worst enemies in whatever place you may get to go. You’ll never really be able to answer straight away the question “where are you from?” cause you won’t feel you belong anywhere. And you’ll never really feel like “home” ’cause even when you settle somewhere like I did, you can’t help feeling like it’s just “one more place”….or at least that’s what I thought until 2007…

As I said, New York has shown me what feeling alive means and has given me much more than I could ever get to imagine. And I’m not just talking about the impression of the flashing and always amazing Manhattan. I’m also, and specially talking about a little place just across the river, a place belonging to the New Jersey State which I now feel like my place and my home thanks to the wonderful people who live there.

That is what this place has given me. The taste (for the first time in my life) of what feeling “home” is like.

n683536954_1145119_7815

Right now, 12th of July 2009, at 8 pm, I’m at Newark’s airport trying no to cry cause I promised not to and writting this to keep me focused on something before heading for Madrid, back to my life in Spain. I know it’ll feel like the longest flight ever. Everytime I leave the States I feel like I’m leaving a part of myself here. But leaving NY and NJ is harder, it just hurts. It feels like loosing my dreams, loosing the opportunity of achieving the life I wanna live and specially, like living  a place where I know I can be myself and feel loved.

I know I promised to be a strong girl. But after leaving at the airport the thing that’s made me happiest in my life I just couldn’t help shading  acouple of tears when I turned my back. Anyways, I’ve taken a deep breath and behaved for I hope this isn’t a “goodbye”, just a “see you later”.

It wasn´t a good bye :)

Scarlett Johansson naked pictures filtrated?

OK, maybe I´m not the first one to see this but I bet there´s still people hearing about it.
A friend just told me that Scarlett Johansson made herself some naked pics with her phone and someone robbed them and put them on the Internet. They say they might be tricked or not real and all that but they look pretty much like real phone pictures to me. Yeah…this is kind of like the yellow press or worst pink  or just “f****d up” but, I had to see it. There´s something about wanting to see these people with no photoshop to see if their bodies are actually more worth looking  at and admiring than your own. Next thing, I was in the Fotogramas.com website taking a look at the pics.  So, Scarlett, I still don´t think you have the prettiest face on Earth  but you sure have one of the most beautiful bodies I´ve seen and I don’t get why they use the photoshop with you. That back image is the image of a Venus and it’s more worth of admiration and looking at than the professional ones you see from most famous girls in magazines (including Scarlett Johansson´s). This body deserves no photoshop coatings. I’m sorry they hacked your accounts or robbed you because your privacy was violated but I’m glad we can see you´re all real.
Now I need to get on a diet and hit the gym and look for your tips on how to mantain yourself like this. :P

Emmy Awards 2011 – Best and worst dressed

MY BEST

Foto: Chris Pizzello / AP

MY WORST

Foto: DANNY MOLOSHOK / REUTERS

AND SOME COMMENTS

How can one of the most beautiful wonen on earth destroy a great dress? The opening for the leg shouldn’t be there and needs real heels instead of my grandma’s.

The new girl

Can´t wait!!! It starts in a few minutes!!! “The new girl” is FOX´s new show. Zooey Deschanel is the star of this show. She is a korky, geeky, let´s just say weird but adorable girl who after a breakup moves to live with three guys. Just watch the video above and tune on your tv to watch it on FOX, channel 5.

If you still want to read more this is what Fox.com says:

NEW GIRL (working title) is a new single-camera comedy from Liz Meriwether (“No Strings Attached”) that features a young ensemble cast and takes a fresh and outrageous look at modern male/female relationships.

JESS DAY (Zooey Deschanel, “(500) Days of Summer”) is an offbeat and adorable girl in her late 20s who, after a bad breakup, moves in with three single guys. Goofy, positive, vulnerable and honest to a fault, Jess has faith in people, even when she shouldn’t. Although she’s dorky and awkward, she’s comfortable in her own skin. More prone to friendships with women, she’s not used to hanging with the boys – especially at home.

Of the three male roommates, NICK (Jake Johnson, “No Strings Attached”) is the most grounded. He had big plans for life, but somewhere along the way, he stopped caring and became a bartender. Usually the smartest guy in the room, he has an uncanny knack for reading people and uses humor to deflect everyone and everything. SCHMIDT (Max Greenfield, “Ugly Betty”) is a hustling young professional who fancies himself a modern-day Casanova. Though his heart is usually in the right place, he’s always scheming ways to climb the social ladder and is driven by an immature and almost obsessive urge to be on “the scene.” Viewing Jess as a gateway into the elusive female mind, as well as a personal project, Schmidt encourages the guys to bring Jess into the apartment. The third roommate, COACH (Damon Wayans Jr., “The Underground”), is a former high school athlete who currently makes his living as a personal trainer. Set in his ways and with a take-it-or-leave-it attitude to dating, Coach is most comfortable when he’s in the gym. Though he’ll never admit it, Coach’s macho athletic exterior is actually a cover for his shyness around women, and he struggles to translate his personal confidence into conversation, preferring to speak in sports metaphors – or not at all.

Rounding out this group is Jess’ childhood best friend, CECE (Hannah Simone, “Beautiful People”), a deadpan, somewhat cynical model who blossomed after outgrowing her promiscuous adolescent years. She has the street smarts Jess lacks and spends a lot of time doling out no-nonsense relationship advice that only a professional model could give. She and Jess balance each other well and accept each other despite their faults, making Cece the perfect complement to Jess.

As their relationships progress, the five friends come to realize they need each other more than they ever thought they would and end up forming a charmingly dysfunctional family.

NEW GIRL (working title) is produced by Chernin Entertainment in association with 20th Century Fox Television. The series is created and written by Liz Meriwether. Meriwether, Jake Kasdan (“The TV Set,” “Freaks & Geeks”), Peter Chernin (TERRA NOVA), Katherine Pope (TERRA NOVA), Dave Finkel (“United States of Tara,” “30 Rock”) and Brett Baer (“United States of Tara,” “30 Rock”) are executive producers. Kasdan directed the pilot.”

The knockout

Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Victor Ortiz

I´m still thinking about what on earth happened this Saturday?

Ortiz seemed to be going hard on Mayweather and suddenly, when it seems like their on a break, Ortiz is not even looking at Mayweather, and Mayweather hit back so hard that he knocked him out. It was only the 4th round. The fight had just started and it ended. It was great and frustrating at the same time. You don´t see fights like that very often but at teh same time, we didný have time to enjoy it. One thing´s for sure, it was too fast.

Take a look at how it happened

Here are some of Ortiz´s best hits from his career
