Mis hoteles soñados de Madrid – My Madrid dream-hotels

Siempre he soñado con pasar una noche en uno de estos dos hoteles de Madrid. Ya sé que vivo en Madrid y puede sonar a estúpido el querer pagar por una noche en un hotel dentro de una ciudad en la que ya vives pero es que para mi desgracia, sólo duermo bien en hoteles y barcos así que, mi atracción por las habitaciones de hotel es enorme.

En cualquier caso, estos dos hoteles son una experiencia única que hace que merezca la pena ir a pasar una noche y pagar por ellos aunque vivas en la misma calle. Una sola noche puede ser mágica.

El Puerta de América tiene cada piso diseñado por un diseñador o un arquitecto diferente. La única planta que no me atrae mucho es la diseñada por Victorio & Luchino (adoro sus vestidos pero el diseño de las habitaciones…) aunque para gustos, los colores. Recomiendo encarecidamente su web donde puedes ir visitando cada piso y decidir lo que más te gusta. La originalidad de cada piso hace que te evadas a otro mundo. Pagaría por una visita guiada. Es el hotel que yo misma soñaría con construir.

El otro hotel es un edificio que resulta ya un clásico de Madrid. El Hotel ME Madrid, más conocido como “El Penthouse” por su famoso restaurante con ese mismo nombre. Adoro sentarme en la plaza que tiene en frente y tomarme una cerveza observándo como con la bajada del sol el hotel abandona su color blanco natural y se convierte en un edificio lleno de glamour envuelto en suaves luces moradas y rosas. Su azotea es una de las más deseadas para fiestas de alto standing o empresas de Madrid y la iluminación nocturna del edificio te hace pensar que estás en otro sitio.

Algún día pasaré la noche en alguno de los dos. Lo apunto en mi cuaderno de asuntos pendientes.

I’ve always dreamed of sleeping at least one night in one of these two hotels in Madrid. I know I live in Madrid and it may not make any sense for anyone the idea of paying for a room in a city where you already got a home. The thing why I get so attracted to hotels is that I got sleeping problems and can only sleep well in hotels and boats or ships.  Anyways, these two hotels got something special that makes paying for them worth it even if you live on the same street. Just one night can be magical.

The “Puerta de América” has each floor designed by a different designer or architect.  The only floor to which I don’t feel too atracted is the one designed by Victoria & Luchino. Don’t get me wrong, they’re awesome clothes designers but I don’t like how they designed the rooms. Anyways, take a look ‘cause each person’s got a different taste. I really recommend everyone to see their web where you can visit every single floor and see one of the most original hotels in the World and decide which floor you like more.  The originality of each floor helps you evade to another World for some hours. I would even pay for a guided visit of the hotel if I could. It is the hotel I would have dreamed of creating.

The other hotel is already a classic building in Madrid. The ME Madrid Hotel by Meliá is also known as “the Penthouse” because of the famous restaurant in it called this way. I love to sit in the plaza (square) in fornt of it to drink a beer while I watch how the sun fades and the hotel abandons its white natural color to become a glamorous purple and pink illuminated building. The hotel’s roof is one of the most desired for  high standing and company parties.It’s illumination drives you away to a dreamplace you’ve never been to before.

One day, I’ll get a room in any of these two I swear, I’m writing it down in my things-to-do notebook.
